The You’re Safe with Me movement is a Christian-based message in response to the social injustice we saw mid-year 2020, particularly, but not limited to, the senseless killings of Ahmaud Arbery, Sandra Bland, and George Floyd. As children of God, we have to stand against injustice not only for those targeted–in this case, the African- American community- but all who experience injustice from those with authority to care for, protect, and serve the community.

We are not only speaking of police officers, but also of doctors, lawyers, childcare workers, educators, managers, and leaders. This message, “You’re Safe with Me,” is based on the premise of the Gospel written in the Bible from John 3:16. That God loves everyone. The Christian community should spread a message of love, not hate – race should not divide us, gender should not isolate us, and age should not separate us. Neither should political stances and views tear us apart. 

The second premise of this movement is that we are the body of Christ, and being the body of Christ suggests we are a Safe Place. The Bible speaks of this in Proverbs 18:10 that His name is a strong tower. It also says in 2 Samuel 22:1-4 that our Lord is a fortress, a refuge, and a Savior. Our submission to you is that we, the Body of Christ, have that same sentiment and duty towards everyone, especially those who are disenfranchised. 

Broken Veil Worship, a 501 (c)3 non-profit organization, has decided to adopt, share, and exhibit this message in combination with our mission. Our mission to worship God is also to carry out His heart for justice. 

It is a fine hour for the church to become unified. It is a fine hour for our world to become unified. Let’s all stand together to say that You’re Safe with Me.
